Today, we want to discuss which is a better bargain. Are you getting what you are paying for. We know that the XBOX one is the more expensive system and also know that PS4 is a little more powerful, and has newer and faster memory. When we look at both systems there is not much difference in gameplay and video quality. (Some even say, the same games could be developed for the PS3). These systems are more intuitive, more interactive and more powerful than their predecessors.
To compare, let's start with the XBOX One. Stock, it comes with one controller, the gaming console itself and the XBOX One Kinect.
The XBOX One comes with a newly designed controller with many improvements and enhancements in the rumble technology where both side of the controller are effected differently or at the same time depending on the situation. ( Bring on the fighting games now.) The XBOX camera has one improved lens the enhances the field of view and allows night vision and examination of the human subject in detail.
The HDMI pass-thru is an interesting feature on the XBOX one over the top. XBOX One is a gaming system, with interactivity like we have never seen in any device . Allowing the user to watch TV at voice commands or switch back with another command. (My suggestion is for users to use Direct TV , because is supports the resolution that will make the experience much better. Direct TV should pay me for that , but that was free. ) The XBOX one is a gaming system that is connected to all the things that we like to do. Lets face it, we are not going to be playing video games 24-7. It has tablet and device connectivity with its XBOX SmartGlass apps. Overall, The XBOX One seems to be to be a more family oriented gaming and entertainment system.
The PS4 comes with one controller, the gaming console(of course). That is all. It price is one hundred dollars less. In this up and down economy, less might mean the difference between all or nothing at all. Parents and young buyers will be looking at the price tag. On the other hand, some don't care about the price. It will be sold during the holiday season, when people are willing to sacrifice and give their loved ones what they want. They want what they want and price is not even an issue with some.
It does not have a share button on the controller to save and share gameplay with others. XBOX.com says the Kinect automatically knows who is gaming and tracks who is holding which controller. Welcome to seamless player pairing.
The PS4 has: The controller/touch pad:Dualshock4 will assist PS4 users navigate through the menu and assist in various games and interfaces on the Sony OS. The Dual Shock 4 has rumble enhancements, and a lighted controller gives the gamer another indicator of his health status and it switches screens sides upon movement from the right side to the left or visa-versa. It has a built in speaker and head-jack. It also has the SHARE button, to save and share your game play with others. (This could be a money maker for some experts to post their games on line and advertise with YouTube. Just Saying!) It has tablet and PlayStation Vita connectivity and Sony apps for tablets. PS4 user have the option to purchase the camera for 60.00 dollars. Notice on the PS4 webpage: the camera is hardly mentioned. It is not the center focus of the PS4. Microsoft made a smart move by intergrading the camera, but should have taken the hit on the price. Microsoft should at least drop the XBOX One to about 430.00 to compete with PlayStation4 price with the camera. They would have taken the market share with a slightly higher price for more accessories. Did Microsoft get a little greedy?
Both systems are state-of-the-art and ready to amaze with there various upgrades and improvements. Although the PlayStation 4 seems a lot cheaper, it is really not. You are getting more for your money with the XBOX One if you add the additional features of the HDMI pass-thru with the Kinect interactivity. Let the battle continue!
